PETER PACK RAT is fun for all ages, males and females alike. The cast of characters includes Peter Pack Rat (our hero) and the Villains (boo, hiss!) – Riff Rat, leader of the Rats of Flatbush, Scrapper the junkyard dog, Sticky the spider, Nite Owl, Slugger the bat, Big Al the alligator, Diamond Jim the snake, and Clawd the cat. Player controls Peter Pack Rat on his quest to collect treasures and bring them back to his nest. The bad guys try to stop him. Peter Pack Rat consists of three different backgrounds: the Junkyard, the Sewer and the Tree. These backgrounds provide the setting for 15 levels of unique game play, if the player is skilled enough to complete level 15, further challenges remain. Operator Options Operators can tune game difficulty to suit any location using the Game Options screen to select the numbers of starting lives (2, 3, 4, or 5), the extra life conditions (none, 20,000, 25,000, 30,000 or 55,000 points) and overall game difficulty (Easy, Medium, Hard or Harder). The game is available in the dedicated upright System I configuration and as a game kit which includes attraction panel decal, completely assembled control panel with graphics and a pop-in game board. |

Den Punkte-Weltrekord hält seit dem 20. März 1986 der Amerikaner Jeff Peters mit 910.875 Punkten. Aufgestellt wurde dieser im Camelot Arcade in Anaheim, Kalifornien. Der finale Test von Peter Pack Rat fand in der Spielhalle Merlin's Castle in San Jose statt, hier wurde gezielt nach Fehlern gesucht und letzte Feineinstellungen vorgenommen, bevor das Spiel veröffentlicht wurde. Software Creations aus Manchester portierte das Spiel 1989 auf Amstrad/Schneider CPC, Commodore 64 und Sinclair ZX Spectrum, vertrieben wurden die Spiele von der British Telecom-Division Telecomsoft unter dem Label Silverbird Software. Eine weitere Version sollte für die PC Engine erscheinen und wurde in der Ausgabe 5/92 des PC Engine Fan-Magazins bereits angekündigt, allerdings wurde das Spiel wieder gestrichen. Der Soundtrack des Spiels erschien im Juli 1991 auf dem Compilation-Album That's Atari Music - G.S.M. Atari Games 1. |
